About Us

Welcome! My husband and I have 3 beautiful daughters (History Buff, Social Butterfly & Joyful Monkey). Our youngest was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 5. This has drastically altered our lives. We now have a very different "normal" than most families. This blog will capture moments of our walk on the path that has been placed before us.

A very important thing to note...
We have no idea why God allowed Joyful Monkey's body to attack her pancreas. We do know, however, that He will use it for His glory. And this knowledge, makes the walk worth while. While sprinting, jogging, and strolling along this path, we see his provision & protection all around us. This is precisely what it means to be cherished. So, we continue walking as His cherished children.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this.. We struggle sometimes wondering why our son was diagnosed and struggles daily with T1. I remember the day I took him to emergency at the hospital and prayed asking our Lord what is wrong with our precious Jake. Suddenly a memory of his grandma filled my mind.. she has having a sugar low. She did not have Diabetes but stuggled with low sugar. I knew nothing.. but when we saw the doctor I agrued with him and said Please check his sugar. He was diagnosed that night. I was scared. We went to another hospital over an hour away that specializes in children with T1 and learned about insulin, blood sugar and injecting. I went to the chapel that night angry at God... But I felt such peace! I felt him saying Jake is in the palm of my hand... His life has been given to me.. I know that God has an awesome plan for our Jake. He plays the violin and is a blessing to us all. He has several food allergies and does not have Celiac ..we are hoping that this challenge does not happen but we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We were driving home from a specialist one day.. feeling a little down.. We drove under a double rainbow. My husband and I looked at each other and we felt such joy and suddenly started laughing! We both felt that Jake was going to be ok and live to be a grumpy old man someday!!!
